Baldwin Secures $4 Million Japanese Newspaper Order

Baldwin Technology Company, Inc. a global leader in process automation technology for the printing industry, has announced that its Japanese subsidiary, Baldwin Japan Ltd., has secured a significant order with the Sankei Newspaper Company. Sankei Newspaper Company publishes the Sankei Shimbun, a daily newspaper distributed in the Tokyo and Osaka areas with a circulation of around two million copies per day, making it one of the largest national newspapers in Japan.

The order, which is worth approximately $4 million, includes a wide range of blanket cleaning and spray dampening equipment. The equipment, which is expected to ship from April through to September of 2008, will be fitted to five Mitsubishi presses at Sankei's Mihara and Oyodo printing plants and has been chosen by Sankei for its reliability and low maintenance requirements.

Baldwin President and CEO Karl Puehringer commented: "We are pleased about this order and believe it shows another vote of confidence in Baldwin's technology and our ability to help newspaper printers streamline processes and achieve greater production efficiencies."
