Baldwin Demonstrates Efficiency at PRINTEX 2003 in Sydney, Australia

Visitors to PRINTEX, Sydney, will see a range of products from Baldwin Technology Company, Inc. in live press demonstrations throughout the exhibition. Baldwin has teamed up with Heidelberg and Komori to demonstrate its BasicLiner™ fountain solution unit on demonstration presses on Stands 48 and 24 respectively. BasicLiner™ features a new alcohol measuring system - Balcontrol BC 713 ‚ which is shown for the first time in Australia.

In addition, Baldwin's water fountain solution cooling and recirculating unit RCWL 851 and its R500 blanket and impression cylinder cleaning system, can be seen in production on KBA's latest six-colour Rapida 105 press at P&I Printers, Sydney. The KBA stand - No.153 - is running daily bus tours from the exhibition centre to the Milperra printer for live demonstrations.

Both BasicLiner™ and the upright cabinet system RCWL 851 ensure the required amount of continuously circulated, cleaned and cooled premixed fountain solution, of a constant composition, is always available in the fountain pans and/or the dampening units during production.

The BasicLiner™ system has a tank capacity of between 30 and 300 litres and an RCWL 851 unit can serve as a fountain solution centre station to supply several offset printing presses at one site. Both products are suitable for installation on new and existing sheet-fed, web offset and newspaper presses. As part of BasicLiner™, the Balcontrol BC 713 alcohol measuring system provides consistent quality of the fountain solution throughout the entire production process, low alcohol consumption and the correct temperature level in the printing unit. It ensures that consumption of 2-propanol is kept to a minimum level in the offset printing process, resulting in high quality fountain solution. Thanks to the system, printing quality is improved, and costs and waste are reduced.
The R500 automatic blanket cleaning system incorporates Baldwin's patented and award-winning dry-cloth and solvent dispensing technology, which provides printing companies with the economic, production and environmental advantages they require.
